Trustees from the Montrose Regional Library District will share interviews and statistics about library usage, as well as information about the new bookmobile and Naturita Community Library, America’s largest straw-bale library. Taught by Dave Bowen, this course will be held from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Montrose Recreation District Senior Center, is for the genealogist who may need help using a computer to record or research their ancestors. League of Women Voters Forum
“How your vote affects local schools.” Presentations will be held at the Montrose Regional Library Community Room include “How are the Montrose County Schools Financed,” by LWV, President Karen Connor, and “How Could Ballot Issues 60, 61 and 101 Change the Face of Financing?” by Montrose County School District Chief Financial Officer, Karin Slater. Program starts at 7:00 p.m. in the Montrose Library Community Room.

Sons of Norway, Vestafjell Lodge will meet at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Montrose, 701 South Junction Avenue. Silverton Day Trip
Register by September 10 for the trip on September 16. Travel by city bus, departing at 8 a.m. and returning at approximately 6 p.m., from the Bill Heddles Recreation Department to Silverton for a day of shopping along Silverton’s historic boulevard, a visit to a world-class mining museum and dining in an old-fashioned atmosphere. Research Your Ancestors
This presentation by Joni Bowen, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Montrose Recreation District Senior Center, will teach you how to gather information about your ancestors, and to keep track of their data and stories. Organize and assemble your findings in a way that makes sense and allows for better access to information that you are collecting. Bring a laptop and paper for note taking.

MRD Senior Dance
Do you love to dance? Head over to the Montrose Recreation District Community Center (25 Colorado Ave.—Aquatic Center Building) on Friday, September 17. Rick and Donna Chapman will be the DJs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Refine your dance skills in a relaxed, comfortable, fun atmosphere and socialize with friends. Admission is $4.
